This system uses 3D laser measurement technology. This system projects a laser onto the rolling surface of the measured wheels and measures the dimensions of the wheelsets through image acquisition, image processing, 3D image restoration, image integration and other algorithms. While the train is moving, parameters such as rim height, rim width, wheel diameter, rim slope, tread shape, inner distance of the wheelset, etc. are automatically measured. This system applies to various locomotives, rolling stock and multiple units. The system creates a curve of the profile of the rolling surface of the wheel, provides the geometric dimensions of different parts of the rolling surface and issues alarms about exceeding the limit parameters.
