The system is divided into two parts: an electronic railroad tag and a tag reading system installed on both sides of the rail. Using RFID technology, the system dynamically reads the wagon number information stored in the tag, thereby providing the user with information services for locating and tracking wagons. Depending on the different locations and conditions, HTK provides different solutions. HTK-07C system provides users with reading information about car numbers on main lines; HTK-AEI-W1 system provides reading of carriage numbers at key nodes; the HTK-DL1 system provides the reading of carriage numbers on several tracks of the station site.
HTK also provides tags for locomotives, passenger cars and freight cars.
HTK's automatic car number identification systems are already widely used in China's railways. A total of 800,000 tags for freight cars, 20,000 tags for locomotives, and 40,000 tags for passenger cars, as well as more than 2,600 sets of reading systems have been installed.
