Track Acoustic Bearing Defect Detection System (TADS)
TADS is installed on both sides of the rail to detect rolling bearing defects by collecting and analyzing the frequency spectrum and amplitude of bearing noise through an array of microphones. TADS can detect defects such as flaking and scratches on the outer race, inner race and bearing rollers, thus predicting premature bearing failures.
Equipped with wheel sensors and an automatic car number identification system, TADS can pinpoint the location of faulty bearings and provide information on train composition, car types, travel speed and direction, and more.
HTK has already installed more than 80 TADS kits on Chinese railways, accumulated a huge amount of data and rich experience of use. Algorithms and models are optimized, defect detection is accurate and reliable.
