Focusing on strengthening people-to-people exchanges, the two sides pledged to take the China-Russia Year of Culture and the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin as an opportunity to hold events in the SCO Ice and Snow Sports Demonstration Zone, the China-Russia Cultural Festival, the China-Russia Sports Conference and other activities, carry out cooperation in high-level cultural performances, cultural tourism and other fields, deepen exchanges in the fields of science and technology, education, environmental protection and youth, expand the scale of two-way study abroad, and promote people-to-people ties and cultural mutual learning between China and Russia.
